Visit to Elk Island National Park

in canada •  7 years ago

Last summer I spend some good time with my family. We really enjoyed our Holidays traveling across Alberta in Canada.

DSCN2012.JPG

We visit Elk Island National park near Edmonton first.

DSCN2215.JPG

Bisons roaming freely in whole area but we only spot this one, but it was enough to get the feeling how big and strong they are.

Ducks didn't pay much attention to visitors.

And chipmunk neither.

trying to figure out if you are REAL lol. You visited me once left an incredible upvote and never heard from you again. Sometimes I wonder who the person is behind the squirrel (apparently your favorite creature)

I'm real person with real life and real job. I'm browsing new posts and try to find good ones to upvote. But it's harder lately. So many posts and so little time. With last HF19 you'll get more rewards even from minnows. Don't worry. Stick around and earn, save and buy steem. Incredible upvote? Watch this!

holy cow dude. Thanks. With your SP I should be writing articles specifically for you. Very generous. I wish I could afford a cottage in northern ontario. My kids are too young. If I could would just move up there permanently.

You never know. Be careful what you wish.

Good stuff @oldtimer, looks like you have some nice photos up your sleeve. Looking forward to see more.

Maybe time will come when I'll want to hire a ,,social media specialist'' to help me with my posting. I'll pay in steem.

Sounds good :)

Hi, that photo of the squirrel is really captivating! Just upvoted and followed you! Thanks for sharing.

I have a lot of good photos to post, but until now I'd just comment and vote. I'm still learning how to make a post to look nice and proper shape. Thanks for stopping by.

The buffalo picture seem to leap out at you. Is there any special effect or technique you use. You must be quite an expert!

It was just nice sunny day. Actually I took this one from inside of my car with open window.

I guess you must be a natural talent taking these wonderful shots!

You got some great pictures, I got mad respect for you, you have been raising peoples egos by resteeming and every thing else, you give good information on peoples post, but you overall give more power to the authors and i thank you for that...

Nice to hear that. Thanks. English language is not my first . It's easy to comment than write a post. And on first place I want to help to grow the community. I made this post just to see if I'll get any response and how many followers actually follow me and my work. And sure we all want some $$ too.

You just appeared on one of my blog posts and dissapeared like a unicorn. Glad it wasn't a bot or anything. Just curious what your first language?

That Beautiful National Park ! I Like That Bisons , he looks so strong :D

Stay tuned. More stuff coming. I need some practice but it should be fine. Thanks.

looking forward to your awesome post , i will stay tuned ! Followed you

Majestic. Where do I sign up?

You lucky. This year is 150 anniversary of Canada. All national park visits are free. Thanks for comment. It looks like I should start to post. I'll start easy, with photos first. Than we'll see on a go.

np man.
yeap, do that!

I would be interested to see more, especially pictures.

Awesome photos, looks like a nice place to visit 😀

Thanks. I have plenty of them to post. I'd took couple of them just randomly to start.

Absolutely beautiful, dude! The valleys around that lake... Amazing! I'd love to swim there! Did you swim??? Did you find gold in that diamond-colored water of pure perfection? :)))

Don't forget that this is Canada and Rocky mountains with real glaciers above lakes. It's cold, way to cold. For me at least. I'm digging for gold on steemit.

I'm not afraid of cold since I'm from Eastern Europe (hehe), but I understand. It would be very fun to go there some day. :)

Awesome pictures, the bison might be a little nerve wracking! Great looking color on that water!

Stick around. I'll try to post more of them.

I will! I live in Florida and we don't have much scenery that looks like that!

I am glad to finally see some posts from @oldtimer
Great job and do not worry about the grammar. Photographs almost speak for themselves anyway. You are doing great!

Thanks for kind words.

Great photos! I so love Lake Moraine!

You right. Even photos are great but in reality... It's breathtaking.

Hi Oldtimer,
Your photos are so nice. Makes me want to go to Canada right now!! I have followed you and upvoted you! I will look forward to more of your post of beautiful Canada

I am new to steemit ! Hope you can follow and upvote me too!

Have a great day ahead!!

Cheers!

Thanks for stopping by. I'm kind of busy for now and it's difficult to stay on top of things. Have still real life to live and job also.

The first pic is just so amazing!
Looks like a paradise!
It must have been so awesome to visit such a place!

I always wanted to visit Alberta!
Hopefully in a few years I will :)

The second pic : The Bison looks three-legged. Is it ? Or is it just the photo?

The final pic with the squirrel : Your Bio says "Don't touch my acorn".
He probably feels the same way :P That's not an acorn though probably.

Loved your post!

Upvoted and followed!

Looking forward to many posts from you!! Please do continue :)

Thanks. That bison was walking so if you look closely you can see his leg is up and bent in the knee. And squirrel dig that thing out of ground and start eating. It was actually mushroom as we found out later.

Oh Okay :) Good to know :)

That water is so blue!

I'm think it's from glacier.

The bisons always fascinate me. In my country we have two natural reserve of bisons in the mountain side !

Their number is in uptrend actually, so it looks like they save this animal species from extinction.

I love going out to Elk Island for the day. Great place to have a fire and enjoy the outdoors. So nice to have it so close to the city.

You right. So close and real nature. We want to visit part on south side of hwy 16, but then we read about different, more aggressive type of bisons and we did't want to take a risk.

The side you were on is the best. We've been a few times and sometimes you see a Bison and sometimes you don't. On one of your trips the whole herd was moving and basically just walked past our vehicle. We were stuck sitting there for a few minutes until the last of them had moved on. It was a pretty cool experience.

It was a bit spooky, walking among bushes and find steps in the mud.

Just a bison on the street 🐂

hah lol

Yes. It's paved road throughout the park so it looks like street. But whole park is really big and fenced.

I like the Bisons very much!
I know they are an endangered species so i love it when people are taking good care of them.

There is no predators in this park and I think they even exported some animals last year and just a while ago I'd read on CBC news that they have quiet big surplus of them.

Wow, what a beautiful place Canada is. Truly marvellous.

I only discovered couple of them. Steem to $50-- than you'll see. Thanks.

Best Regards~
@abn

wow, so beautiful, wish I was there now :) Will follow you ;)

When you resteam a post do you loose money? I enjoy your post and comments and you gave me a descent upvote yesterday , to me it seems the more steem power you have the more power you obtain. Thanks for your time!

You never lose money. With your actions you actually create steem which is divided among authors and curators. I think resteem have nothing to do with money. Just buy steem and keep your rewards for now. When you figure out how whole system works you'll have enough time to decide what to do with it.

Thanks for your time, I just didn't understand but now I do.

Whens your next post I cant wait.

Looks like a great adventure! Followed and voted!

These photos are so fun! Amazing view in that first image, makes me want to travel up to Canada soon! That image of the bison in the middle of the road made me laugh, because that's exactly how they act in Yellowstone National Park too! I went to college in East Idaho, and was able to experience a lot of nature similar to this. Such a beautiful Earth we live in! Thanks for sharing!

This buffalo looks huge!

You are being followed by a coin puppet!

Please follow it back ;)

The Bison encounter looks a bit scary ;D Nice post ! Followed. Check out my travel photos also, hope you enjoy them!

Amazing story ,real respect 😉

Nice pictures

Living in a city and then seeing these pictures is like a fresh breeze of air, so an upvote is in place :)
Have you ever seen paintings by Bob Ross, that first picture is something he would have painted.
Here is a google link of some of his pictures, incase you wanna check it out :

I first though that it was ducktape on the road where the bison walks, what an amazing creature.
Whenever I see humans in majestic pictures of nature its kinda like, something is out of place there hehe
Did you get to see any elks ?

Wow. That bison looks so soft and cuddly! I bet it's dangerous?!
No bisons here in Estonia.
Nice photos! Upvoted, followed!
Have great day! :D

This post was really great! Alberta is so beautiful and those Bison, wow!! Where are you from? I live in Toronto. Followed!

We city folks don't have a chance to experience this wonder of nature. Living in the concrete jungle all day is not good for one's health and mind. Thanks for sharing the wonderful and vivid photos. It is like you have brought me there and looking at the pictures ... helped clear my mind and put it at ease ... glad to know that there is still a piece of heaven on earth out there in Canada. Following you and hope to see more wonderful pictures.
