I use to be a liberal. Back in a time when we were again the war in Iraq. Back in a time when were were worried about sweatshops and human trafficking. Back in a time when we worried about logging in the amazon.
I rebelled against "liberalism" the day I found out Barack Obama approved put a Trillion dollar deficit for the second year. I wasn't hearing liberals complain against money being stolen from future generations to pay for today's waste. When I started hearing liberals calling conservatives "cheap", while future generations we're getting ripped-off, I got very annoyed. I proudly rebelled, and became a conservative overnight. Too this day, I havn't looked back,
I never sold out my progressive roots. I held onto them. I'm what you call a "progressive conservative". One that believes in fiscal accountability, environmental responsibility, income opportunity, and progress for "mankind". It annoys me when the Canadian prime minister told a female student, that it was inappropriate for her to use the world "Mankind". It this what liberalism has turned into?
Liberals care use to care about real issues, but now were being lectured on what ideas are appropriate or not. We're being lectured on what "words" we can or can't say. Even some are calling for the Canadian National Anthem to remove the word "Sons", so we not longer insult feminist. It's no longer appropriate to use the world "He" or "She". Because Canada wants to be the worlds most tolerant country. They are trying to pass laws to force companies to recognize over 50 new genders. They are trying to ban the "Male" or "Female" restrictions on drivers licenses. This craziness has got to stop!
Hello @remotediscovery. I read your post and I like the content. However, I think it is really irrelevant on the part of Liberals to be discussing such a trivial matters. They should concentrate on more important things that would benefit their nation. Thanks for sharing.

When the leader of a country calls "mankind" an offensive word, it does more harm than good. It get's everyone focused on ideas that are counterproductive to progress. Here's a fiscally conservative, liberally progressive idea. Offer tax breaks, or discounts on tuition to students who do some volunteer work for charities. Maybe help out with some public landscaping projects, to make the cities a better place to live. It would save taxpayers money, from hiring professionals to do the same job and foster a sense of community.

I don't worry about whether I am Liberal or Conservative, I have views on certain issues and I vote based on who has the same views on the most issues I guess. I generally consider myself center libertarian. Poor America simply had no half viable options last election. Canada has gone wild with the identity politics craze and i'm pretty sure it will bite them in the butt pretty hard.

It's absolutely insane. We have something called Bill 89. Effective, the authorities can take children away from their parents, if they child feels the parent is not using the gender pronoun the kid wants. They are trying to pass legislation, when they parents can be held in contempt, if they refuse their child demands to have "hormone treatment", because they think they were born in the wrong body. The person who wrote the Ontario sex ed curriculum is now in prison from producing child pornography. Yet the supreme court won't throw out the curriculum due to illegitimacy, and criminal conflict of interest. You can't make this stuff up in a science fiction movie, yet our politicians are getting insaner by the day, and the general public is too lazy to do anything about it. Just watch the video, and see how the entire crowed laughed to support our Prime minister, as he said Canada will be no longer be tolerating the word "Mankind", because he thinks it will upset some feminist. That's the scary part.

In Australia where I am from we have Bill 18c that means you cant "offend" someone, which is of course absurd. So far noone has been convicted that I know of yet because it seems the judges at least have 1/2 of a brain. It does seem to me that the more someone spouts on about how much they are against violence or something the more likely they are to be hiding some serious character flaws. I am always wary of people that excessively virtue signal now.
