Susan's Beautiful Blue-Nosed Pittie
Indigo has never had such an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors so freely. She has become quite the good listener and I allow her to roam freely without a lease around our property when I work.
The smile on her doggy face when she sprints around the bush like she's hot on the trail of a rabbit or something. She sniffs around and finds the scent of whatever animal was present there in the past and follows their steps to where ever the lead goes cold.
The reason I am care-taking for her, and for the indefinite future, is that her Mother had unfortunately been diagnosed with Primary Glioblastoma. An extremely malignant and near 100% terminal brain cancer. From the American Brain Tumor Association, "Glioblastomas (GBM) are tumors that arise from astrocytes—the star-shaped cells that make up the “glue-like,” or supportive tissue of the brain. These tumors are usually highly malignant (cancerous) because the cells reproduce quickly and they are supported by a large network of blood vessels."
Susan, Indigo's Mother, has asked that I be the one who would care for her baby if she were to pass. It seems I always had a gravitating presence with Indie, where she would listen well to me, but seemingly no one else, and not just recently but also before when Susan would bring her around in the Summer. It was Indigo's birthday yesterday, Susan has mentioned at dinner. I think a lot internally, about the whole situation, and wonder if Indigo has any idea as to why she has been staying with us. I wonder if she longs for her Mother.
Susan had recently gone under the knife at the prestigious Penn Hospital in Philadelphia on the 8th of March, in attempt to remove the three tumors located in the right occipital lobe of the brain, behind the ear. The highly trained doctors and surgeons believe they had removed 100% of the tumors from her brain but obviously had to cut open her skull a bit to get to the tumors. So she is still being very cautious as to protect the wound on her head that is sealed shut with a bunch of large metal staples... And Indie is a very strong dog, as can be seen from the bulging muscles on her forearm and legs so we don't need her to pull Susan along, nope. Even I was being pulled along the walk at Nolde Forest when I had her on the leash. Yea it isn't the best quality in her, but I think I can manage that over having Susan's wound reopening....
This is why I have been praying every night openly on Steemit posts. In hopes that others would read and perhaps just think in their heads for a moment, for that is prayer and with lots of prayer perhaps we could change the outcome!
Susan will have to undergo radiation therapy and chemotherapy for 6 months I believe the doctors told her. But before then, she has been adamantly searching for different, new age, and holistic methods to rid herself of the brain cancer. We are considering CBD oil, tone frequency therapy, some different herb from an island nations jungle in Southeast Asia so far.. but I would like to extend an invitation to this wonderful community of Steemit to contribute whatever knowledge they may feel could help her, and us, as we battle this aggressive and almost always fatal illness.
There is so much to learn on @Steemit regarding alternative treatments for cancers and such, so please, I reach out to you all, that if you already know a great tidbit of info, just to share it with us. And if you are interested in this, I will be keeping track of Susan's health as we travel on this journey thru hell.
When she begins her radiation and Chemotherapy, with her permission, I will be documenting via daily photos of herself and a blurb about the current situation.
It is a sad time in this household, but we try to keep up good spirits. For that is what we must do. My Father grieves and it obviously will take a toll on someone who cares and thus we encourage each other to keep strong, for Susan.
She is a beautiful woman, a super intelligent woman with a great respect for life, it is a shame she has been dealt such a shitty card in life.
I pray for Susan.
The Journey Begins...
Edit: We have two theories on the potential cause of these nasty tumors, she has been working in a building that has been infested with black mold and consistently flooded floors with stagnant water for about 8 years now, I believe. She was laid off from the local Hospital in 2009 and took what she could working where she was. Breathing that stuff in every single day all day, for 8 years can't be good at all. And my other theory is that her and my Father are on the cellphone a whole lot each night, talking to each other. Perhaps the radiation source close to the ear, like a cellphone pressed up against the head lead to the cancer cells forming. All speculation from a non doctor. Reading a little bit online, there doesn't seem to be a definitive link from black mold to cancer, but the toxin produced by the mold can affect the nervous system.. as told by Google.
