So as cannabis cartridges become popular a 1 gram cartridge of at least 50% extract may end up being a possible standard. Or a 1 gram of cannabis at least 20%, but extracts work better. So we CAN try our best to create illicit futures markets that compare prices of all the dakrnet markets, and couod allow for "cocaine arbitrage" or "cannabis price arbitrage" And hey anyone buying cannabis here cheap and selling it double or triple elsewhere is basically doing arbitrage. Well states want to know how much cannabis is produced. Why not make a blockchain driven commodity ledger where the assets are the phenotype and the distribution is weight in grams? (i.e. BubbaKush97 with 24,500 g.) This is established when the inspectors go to see what is produced then the dispensaries can buy as many grams as assets they registered for. So, 50,000 grams split into 1k parcels = 50 types of weed/ dispensary. It kind goes without saying but bigger dispensaries need bigger selections or larger quantities.
When the "gram" is sold an entry goes to the ledger via serverstamp. The token is issued by state inspectors by way of an "exchange" that distributes tokens per gram of weight. So there is a diligent account to deter 'under the table' sales and farms/dispensaries have accurate records that match the state's ledger.
Also a great way to keep track of what really sells.
Now the state can collect their fees based on actual sales so mom and pop shops have a fighting chance.
