Decarbed Cannabis and Edibles

After working at a cannabis farm and a dispensary for over 2 years, I've picked up a great way to stay medicated for an extended period. My tolerance is high, so if I want to stay medicated, I'd have to smoke every half hour to an hour. It just won't work for my two jobs.

This is a process that I'm sure many of you know for making edibles, but it leaves out the butter or oil step that I've never liked. Butter and oil have a shelve life and prevent you from cooking certain dishes or foods.

Decarboxylation is a process that changes the molecules from the THCa position to the Delta9 position. This is the most medically beneficial position for you.

Steps for decarbing-

  1. Preheat oven to 240° and grind your cannabis as finely as possible. A regular herb grinder may work for your needs.

  2. Place ground cannabis into a foil bag (just make the bag out of a sheet of foil) Some use a cookie tray, but either way is fine.

  3. Heat cannabis for 40 minutes.

  4. Remove bag from oven and leave cannabis to cool for a few minutes and you're good to eat it.

240° for 40 minutes. That's it. Just remember those numbers. It would help to have an oven thermometer to ensure a stable temp. I've even used my toaster oven.

With the cannabis in this dry herb form, I keep it in my spice cabinet and never worry about it expiring or molding. I can add cannabis to anything I want now. Sandwiches, salads, burgers, burritos, rice bowls, smoothies, ice cream sundaes, waffles, anything. The finer your product, the easier it is to mix with food.

With a daily dose of my decarbed Cannabis, I can stay happily medicated for up to 6 hours. I usually consume around a tablespoon or less. If I smoked that amount, instead of decarb it, I'd lose about 5.5 hours of effective medication time.

I'm cheap and won't go back to antidepressants or antianxiety pills. Thanks for scrolling!

P.S. If you ever find yourself too high from THC, CBD will counteract the effects and bring you back to a comfortable level. At least it works for most.

Sometimes when i don’t want to do the butter process i do the same thing but i then add it to milk and make hot coco out of it

That deserves an upvote, an idea I haven't tried yet! That sounds really good, thank you.
