CBD Rene

Welcome to my strain review. This strain is from The Green Rhino located in Vancouver, BC.

This strain is priced at $10 per gram but at the time of buying it was on sale for $8 per gram. Also i had a 20% discount at the time so i ended up paying $6.40 per gram plus taxes.

CBD Rene won the award for highest level of CBD at 2014 High Times Cannabis Cup competition in Amsterdam and 1st place for Highest CBD Flower at the 2015 Harvest Moon Cup in Vancouver. It was bred by the House of the Great Gardener.

This strain comes in at 6.17% THC and 6.38% CBD. That gives it a low THC value in today standards and a mid range CBD.

Since CBD's medical benefits have been only hyped up for the past few years it has not been a trait that has been bred for much until lately. This is why you don't usually see higher CBD levels if any CBD at all in some strains.

The smell is a sweet floral berry and just a bit of earthiness.

The taste in my vaporizer is a sweet berry floral with small amount of pungency. A new top stain of mine i think.

The appearance is a bit of a darker green with very few small amber/brown pistols. Lots of nice what appear to be mostly clear trichomes covering all the vegetation. The buds could be trimmed a bit better but the sugar leaves that are left are nicely frosted.

The effects are energetic euphoric and alert. For being fairly balanced in the THC and CBD i do feel a bit high which they say the CBD is supposed to counteract the psychoactive effects of THC, i do not agree with that in this case though. Being late in the day though i noticed the energetic part declined about an hour after vaporizing.

Some info i found on the strain:

  • Hybrid Indica Strain (60% Indica x 40% Sativa)
  • CBD Rene = Cannatonic x (Skunk #1 x Himalayan Indica)
  • Taste: Berry, Sweet, Floral
  • Treats: Pain, Depression, Inflamation

Omg, these pics make me weed horny . I freaking love looking at weed! I also love the CBD strains. I need the perfect Indica/CBD strain that will mellow me and help with anxiety. Thanks for sharing and much RESPECT

Looks great. How often do you take it? Lately, I've been using this - https://joyorganics.com/products/organic-cbd-oil-tincture-tranquil-mint?variant=37261435797685. I like it more, and it's easier to use.
Usually, I use it when I come home after a hard day's work or when I have a stressful day. That way, I relax and sleep better. But I try not to use CBD very often so that my body doesn't get used that it can only relax in this way. I aspire to be a responsible consumer and to use the right dose, although this is safe.

Weed seeds are a part of the marijuana plant. They are the tiny, soft fruits that develop on the plant after the flowers are pollinated. The seeds are made up of three parts: the embryo, the endosperm, and the seed coat. The embryo is the plant itself, and the endosperm and seed coat are the support structure for the plant. CBD Rene's accolades and the fact that it's bred by the House of the Great Gardener speak volumes about its quality. The balanced THC and CBD levels make it an interesting choice.
And I'm with you on the whole CBD counteracting THC thing; it doesn't always play out as expected.
The sweet berry floral taste and energetic effects sound enticing. Plus, it's cool that you included info on its lineage and potential benefits.
If you ever want to explore more strains or have questions about cannabis, I recently stumbled upon a bongs online place.
