Whats a grinder coin and how does it maximize my kief collection?

Hello there again stoner, tokers, dabbers and smokers Cannabizzle weed hack for you all.
Just as with anyone I want to get the most bang for my buck out of my cannabis.

As an legal medical cannabis consumer, I’m always looking for methods to get more out of my cannabis. One of the easiest, low-cost ways to extend the life of your cannabis and the terpy (THC) trichomes covering it is to get decent all metal two-chamber grinder. These grinders are usually denoted by their four-piece construction: lid (top grinder), grinder tray (bottom grinder), bud receptacle, and kief catcher. While many cannabis consumers prefer to break up their bud with their hands, there are instances I choose to grind my herb because it improves airflow (in a bowl or in a joint) while saving sifted trichomes for many different uses later.

The reasoning behind a kief catcher is to allow for the passive sifting of sticky, stoney trichomes that can be pressed into a hash, added to cannabutter or cannabis-infused coconut oil, or simply dusted into/onto a joint or a nice bowl topper my personal fave is moon rocks and really the possibilities are only limited to your imagination . In an attempt to obtain as much of this unrefined cannabis kief as possible, I added one additional (albeit optional) piece to my grinder set-up: a sterilized coin of the appropriate size for your grinder.

*DISCLAIMER:
Obviously, before you use a dirty piece of loose change in your nice clean cannabis and grinder you must wash and sterilize it first. This will just take a few seconds with some hot water, soap, paper towl, and a bit of abbrassive effort to remove any particulates or surface staining from the coin. Afterwards, give it a quick shine with 70%+ isopropyl alcohol, pat and air dry, then deposit. Use the correct size of grinder coin for your grinder. This grinder is small so a dime is shown as an example, however larger grinders may want to use a larger diameter coin to grind with. Stay away from pennies as most of them are zinc with copper jackets.

A “grinder coin” (as the kids call them) will quickly improve the amount of kief you gather from your ground cannabis without reducing the overall potency of your cannabis-consuming experience too greatly. It does break more trichomes and raw organic plant material into your kief. The key is to not over shake the grinder coin as the more you shake it the more green and full of plant material your kief will have. Admittedly your kief is much more "blond" without a grinder coin, but it will take forever to accumulate any real usable amount of kief without a grinder coin. Overall very good useful tip to produce much more kief much faster and cost you literally nothing.

The newest method some people use (not me), is to me is placing your grinder (with your freshly ground herb) into the freezer for 5-10 minutes before shaking vigorously. I understand the motivation to freeze the trichromes
(which will make the trichomes more brittle and prone to dislodge from plant material), In my personal opinion though the simply grinding alone should be enough mechanical agitation to gather kief without waiting to get medicated and elevated.
