I say this all the time, but a like on Facebook is still and always will be worth $0.00
Full disclosure:
I have multiple accounts on this Blockchain, and I often use one to support the other. I understand why some people might find that to be a little sketchy, but here's how I justify it. I don't only do that. At the end of the day, the reason I do that is to increase SteemPower, which I then use to upvote quality content that other people post.
In fact, I made this account with the specific intention of upvoting the posts of other people who are interacting in the cannabis community here.
I have never powered down any account. I've made a couple of transfers to Bittrex, but only to do some trading, and eventually buy more Steem when it's cheaper and I have more Bitcoin or Ethereum with which to buy more Steem.
What do I like to do with the Steem? Well, I used to like to use services to upvote my own posts, but I don't do that nearly as much anymore. I lease SteemPower instead of just powering up. Is this a good idea? Technically, no. It costs me more than I make in curation rewards. Especially since I often vote within minutes of someone posting something. I only do it with gains that I make from crypto trading.
It's clear to me that people are posting far less in this community, and to be honest, it kind of baffles me. Why is the price of Steem really that important? I say this all the time, but a like on Facebook is still and always will be worth $0.00. That's why I'm making it my mission to upvote good content with my artificially increased SteemPower. I'm incentivizing quality content on a platform I still believe in, since payment seems to be such a motivating factor here.
Another reason I can justify upvoting some of my own content with accounts that I run is that I spend a lot of my time doing all of this. While I don't power down and actually take any payment, I realize that all of this increased SteemPower is still an asset I'm growing. For the record, the vast majority of the self-upvoting I do is from my main personal account, upvoting this one. I power up 100% of it to make my upvote with this account more powerful.
Just my thoughts. I wanted to be open with my intentions. Also, if you're reading this, post good shit with the cannabis tag, because I'll see it, and I'll upvote it. Make good comments, too.
Be honest... do you think what I've described is ethnical behavior on this blockchain, or am I a sketchy motherfucker?
Would you like to help?
Here's how:
- Post more. More posts, more comments. Just interact. It's getting easier and easier. There are apps you can use to be involved on your mobile device. (Partiko), I recommend also checking out Busy.org or SteemPeak.com instead of Steemit.com for using the platform. You get a much better experience in my opinion. You can schedule posts (on SteemPeak), save templates, get notifications, etc.
- Follow the curation trail on SteemAuto. Then when this account upvotes a cannabis post, you'll also upvote it. Because the upvote for this account is worth a little bit, you'll probably get some small curation reward profits out of it. A gain is a gain is a gain.
- Upvote the posts made by this account. In addition to upvoting the content other people make, I also post a lot of cannabis news.
- Do the same thing I'm doing. I basically told you how to do it. The more the merrier, as far as I'm concerned. Let's keep going until everyone posting quality cannabis content is getting $4.20 upvotes for their posts. It's not as easy as just following the curation trail, but it'll probably work out better for you in the end.
- This one is perhaps obvious, but follow this account.
My other accounts:
- @marksheppard: My personal account. I made this one first, and honestly... I kind of wish I didn't use my full name. That's a small part of my motivation to make this account, too.
- @deadisdead: This is a metal-ish band I'm in with my brother and a friend of ours. I play drums. I don't post much with this one.
- @carnivorefeed: CarnivoreFeed exists to serve the same purpose as Cannuration, but for keto/carnivore diet content. That's also an interest of mine. I'm a former long-time vegan who ended up with health issues because of it and didn't realize it. I've turned things around by switching to a keto-carnivore diet. The community on this blockchain for keto-carnivore content isn't nearly as big or as active as the cannabis community, though.
Posted from Busy, not Steemit. Because I like editors and features and shit.
