Top Dressing My No Till Cannabis Bed + Veg Update

in cannabis •  7 years ago

Afternoon all,

This soil bed has given me two full cycles of cannabis plants & my current plants are showing deficiencies so I put together a little organic top dress casserole to feed my dirt.

Mixed in here in not too specific amounts is

•Alf alfa meal
•kelp meal
•glacial rock dust
•a little neem cake
•crab meal
•microbe catalyst
•a little Steve Solomon organic fertilizer

•put a few cups of worm castings on top the other day as well, will probably put 1/2 dozen more cups of worm castings in here, good stuff

Couple dollars cost at most, probably less

Here’s a better view of the current plants in this bed

You see the difference in color on the right. The plants on the right are in some new living organic soil pots & obviously have more food available than my bed I’m dressing up.

& in this bed I have a few Delhi friends that were monster cropped. Meaning I took these clones when the mom was flowering so they get very very bushy

New organic living soil creates a nice thick lush Delhi canopy

& one for perspective, the plants in pots will go into the beds I have finishing in my other room & the plants in the beds here will be flipped to flower in a week or two.

Looking great! Im curious on why and how the clone will be more bushy from taking the cutting from a flowering plant?

You should try it, takes awhile for them to come out of Flower & into full veg, but when they do they develop many many shoots. One normal branch throws off 8ish more branches with no topping. But there is a weird in between stage of mutantish growth.

I’m not sure why exactly this happens but the bud site is able to produce & support way more shoots than a normal vegetative joint. Maybe it changes the growth genes or is just purely structural opportunistic growth.

I dont see why not. How long was your plant into flower once you took the cutting? And how long of a light cycle do you use for your clones? I always have my veg room @24 hours, which its the same room my clones are in as well.

I do 18/6 for veg & clones. The longer u wait into flower the longer it takes for them to come out of it. Even two weeks of flower will get some very different than normal growth. U just have to give it time to mature out of the weirdness. I have taken them as late as 5 weeks into flower

Really nice! 💚

Thank you 🙏
