I believe that THC and other cannabinoids deserve much more research and attention than they are currently getting. The quality of cannabis that is supplied to US researchers is shamefully inadequate. It all comes from a hack grower at KSU and has stems and leaves ground up with the buds. Researchers need access to high-quality THC extracts.
However, Rick Simpson is also a hack. He pops-off on dubious claims that are only backed by very loose anecdotal "evidence." His "oil" is a messy, waxy, contaminated poop-soup.
Modern-medicine is not quackery. Modern healthcare practitioners can sometimes be misguided and agenda driven, but the cannabis-health movement must not act the same way. If we make unfounded claims, it only hurts our cause. We must demand more research, and help to properly analyze and critique the results of these studies.
We cannot give into our emotions and speak on our "beliefs" as if they are facts. The Scientific Method will set us free.
