Perpetual Indoor/Outdoor Grow Journal #10: My Tent Is Ready After Some Pain!

in cannabis •  7 years ago

I have to admit this tent has been coming together with real pain...

Basically, I ordered it from some German stoners via eBay, and they shipped another model, but with two metal poles missing. I got really pissed, and even planned to go over there, so I could tie them conveniently to a pile of carbon scrubbers, and whip some sense into these smoky brains with a barbed wire... but as I needed my tent mounted quickly I decided to shop for the poles locally instead.

And I did today measuring the diameter with a calliper beforehand, but the fuckin' DIY center had a wrong one on the label (the story of my life), so I had to stuff them a lil' bit with some carton and scotch tape to fit them into plastic connectors as I really didn't feel like going back there and complain.

I also had to cut them for size with a hand saw (organic growers are against electric appliances on principal), cause these were too fuckin' long... but eventually I made it work and was able to stuff my seedlings in there after setting up my LED... which occurred to have faulty touchscreen, so my growing mode kept switching, and it might continue to do so.

But the built-in timer is definitely working, so now I can split to Morocco for a few days with my wife with a peace of mind after pouring my plants their last drink!

KABOOM!

The tent is a nice Mammoth PRO 120, and it comes with a steel frame, heavy duty fabric and pretty nice mylar coating. And FYI, you non-metric barbarians, it's about 4'x4'x6'7"

Lol! Remind me to never piss you off! Nice work getting it together. Hope to maybe see some pics from Morocco you lucky basterd! Eat a lot of lamb for me👍 Oh yeah smoke a lot of hashish for me too 😉

Yeah I'll be posting some. I even adjusted my phone for security. Most likely I'll use busy. The mobile site seems hassle free.

Have a good trip friend 👍

Thx a lot, will do :)

If we are asking I want some real Morocco hash! And pictures!

I put together a 3x3x8' grow tent earlier this year- an additional one to the 3x3x6 we already had and I wish I had two of the taller ones. Some of your plants, even with topping them twice, seem to keep on growing and growing.

Great update.

The higher the better... no pun intended :D

I'll be showing LST tricks to keep the plants very low though, so stay tuned!

I'm on my third crop right now. The first was a mixture and a test run. Came out decent. The second one was sour diesel and was apparently quite good according to everyone who sampled it.

Right now I have AK47 (2), Blueberry Kush (2) and Mac N Kush (2). In their fifth week of vegetation. Having a issue with one of the BK is having manganese issues with the yellow/brown dots. Keep flushing out the soil (using coco coir this time)... trying the foliar feeding and seems to be working; just time consuming. Hoping the issue won't cause a lower yield.

Sad thing is, I don't consume any... just the grower, nutrient lady and keeping of the grow tent.

Hmm never grew any of these strains, but manganese deficiency is xtremely rare for one reason, it's a micronutrient that easily gets provided in healthy soil... but then coco coir is technically soilless - if you go back a few days on my blog, you're gonna find a post explaining the difference - so you should treat it like a hydro medium. It's basically inert, so it needs to be enriched or regularly pumped with nutes if you're going with a feeding schedule.

If you post a few pics, I could probably tell you what this deficiency really is.

And if you don't consume it, someone else will, so it's all good :)

Yeh I tried once with coco and hated it lol, but since then a bit in the soil is nice :)

edibles!

Nice fitting! Get a 4x4 tray.. This barbarian endorse it! Grunt!

I have sth like a waterproof fabric tray, but it looks better as a cover.

Yeah that's the drip guard... Lol but best have a tray and have it drain to a tank and pump It back up. My constant flow and drain was low tech cheap and perfect for once a day checks and every 2 weeks change. Besides a timer and set it for 5 mins on for every hour? Perfect hydro every time.

I'm running dry/wet cycle, so I'd have to hook up a humidity detector that'd trigger the drip... too much work for a small tent I think :)

Makes watering individuality a thing of the past. And small or big if they get too much it drains off. But the nutrients are constantly replaced.

You have a touchscreen on the LED>?!

Yep I do, but DC card is faulty, so I need to use external timer for the time being.
