Idaho is one more region where cannabis activists are fighting for their basic rights to choose their medical freedom.
Right now the plant is illegal for recreational and medicinal purposes in the region. There are efforts seeking to accomplish both legal medicinal and recreational markets in the region but they might not have as much luck as in other areas.
There is constitutional amendment which has been put forth in Idaho that is seeking to add illicit drugs like cannabis and others to its Constitution.
The state senate just recently delayed the vote on this but if they do pass it then it would add a cannabis ban right into the Constitution and make it more difficult for legalization to take place after those changes go forward.
Anti-cannabis advocates say they want to ban cannabis and have that added to the Constitution because they're concerned about the 'safety and health' of children.
But thousands of children are taking medicinal cannabis for dozens of different diseases around the country right now and an effort to further prohibit cannabis only limits their natural rights and medicinal freedoms, to choose something that might work better for them if they were to get sick.
For veterans suffering from PTSD and dealing with pain and other ailments, to seniors who are looking to combat the pains that come with aging, and everyone in-between that is looking for something natural that might help them to combat anxiety, depression, or some other struggle.
The prohibition of cannabis isn't about health and it isn't about safety, because violating natural rights in this way isn't safe for anyone. And pursuing the war on drugs against cannabis only brings danger to communities and the rights of individuals living within them.
The lawmakers in Idaho behind this effort are only looking to erode liberty for millions in the state, over a plant.
This effort to restrict the rights and liberty of individuals living in that state isn't the right decision to make because it leads to suffering and overreach of government in our everyday lives.
People in Idaho shouldn't be left to suffer because a few lawmakers refuse to recognize their right to choose what could arguably be a much more effective and safer medicinal option for them.

not surprised. Those morons had road signs that, if you switch pot to alcohol, brings you back to Prohibition

Remember that what we want is decriminalization, not "legalization" which is just a corporate monopoly backed by state violence. Legalization is tyranny, decrim is freedom, it's quite simple. Never "settle" for legalization, thinking "at least it's a step in the right direction". It isn't, it's ten steps in the WRONG direction. #endcannabisprohibition
