For today's we news we go did a great nation of South Korea.

In an unforeseen turn of events, it appears that South Korea just became the first country in East Asia to allow cannabis for medical purposes!

According to Marijuana Business Daily, the country's Act on the Management of Narcotic Drugs was amended by the South Korean National Assembly who voted to start allowing "non-hallucinogenic doses of medical cannabis".

The move comes just months after South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug slSafety announced that it was going to green-light the use of MMJ based medications like Epidiolex, Sativex and others for people suffering from symptoms of HIV/AIDS, cancer and related treatments, as well as epilepsy.

"South Korea legalizing medical cannabis, even if it will be tightly controlled with limited product selection, represents a significant breakthrough for the global cannabis industry... The importance of Korea being the first country in East Asia to allow medical cannabis at a federal level should not be understated. Now it's a matter of when other countries follow South Korea, not if," said Vijay Sappani, the CEO of Toronto-based Ela Capital in an interview with Marijuana Business Daily.

I personally believe that this is awesome news. Although I'm sure that it's going to be very strictly controlled at first and probably nothing like the medical marijuana programs we are used to out here on the West Coast of the USA.

But I fully agree with Vijay that it is a monumental step forward as far as changing the way people view cannabis on the continent of Asia. It looks like slowly but surely, the whole planet is beginning to turn green.

And that's what's up in South Korea!

I read somewhere that cannabis is legal in North Korea. THey use the seeds for oil. Also because they never accepted any drug treaties that the USA made most country's follow.

Ya I heard that too. Too bad everything else about life in NK is horrible
