For today's weed news we go to Shopify.
The popular e-commerce platform Shopify is about to get even more popular thanks to cannabis.
That is in part because several Canadian provinces have already chosen Shopify as the platform that will run their official government-sectioned cannabis ecommerce websites.
On top of that, cannabis giant Canopy Growth Corporation has also already partnered up with Shopify to help distribute their product in Canada once it becomes legal to sell.
Investors eyeing the cannabis industry players and their stock investment opportunities are also starting to take notice that in today's uncharted waters, Shopify, being a well-established company that deals with much more than just weed, but is positioned to make a lot of money off of weed just the same, could be emerging as a solid addition to a well-balanced portfolio.
In the last 12 months alone, Shopify stock has shot up over 27%.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to give anybody any kind of investment advice. I myself own zero stocks of any kind.
But it does seem very interesting to me to see a company as big and diverse as Shopify wholeheartedly embrace cannabis and not discriminate against it like many of the big internet platforms do.
And that's what's up with Shopify!
