I got this pic from the news. It's from a Vancouver City Hall protest in 2015 when I first started getting into local activism.

I remember those protests at City Hall. I remember when we were brand new to the local scene (but seasoned in other ways). We got told "all the activism has been done" and "all the sacrifices have already been made". Full legalization within months, we were told. Here we are about to be completely crushed out of existence by this "legalization". Well, not if we can help it!!

Keep patients rights! Go! Be you and change things!

Forgive my ignorance of Canadian law (or pending law) but are they pushing to prevent private citizens from growing even for personal consumption?

@im-mature, It's confusing, and I think they do that intentionally. At the time the picture was taken, no real laws about growing had been talked about yet, just vague promises of "legalization". It has now been revealed that such regulations will be the burden of each province when legalization does finally pass. So, provinces like Quebec are trying to prohbit personal growing entirely. Other provinces that are supposedly allowing personal growing are going to heavily restric it. For example, they are proposing 5 plants per building which excludes many apartment dwellers. People would be required to register with the government and be subject to home inspections by police. In BC, the landlord association is trying to prohibit cannabis growing indoors AND outdoors. yikes :(

yahhh love seeing this 💚👐
