For those who are constantly vote for legalize cannabis, does not matter on what purpose they smoke cannabis for, either in recreation or in medical term, though i dare say, the majority will agree not to ‘over commercialize’ cannabis. Check out the article below from someone, I rate the writer as not a good writer, and, so do I. I love to share this article and I do believe the writer are honestly share his thoughts yet still valuable thoughts ;
Let's start with the facts: I am a pot smoker and have been since school. I began a few years before dropping out of third form high school.
I smoked because my older friends did and I wanted to fit in.
At the time, what I didn't realise was how it would effect my life looking forward. But to be fair, at that age I never thought about the future.
As I matured I learned that people react to pot differently - it's all about chemical composition.
My partner has ADD and pot wakes her up, however, if she was to take meth she'd fall asleep. Whereas for me, pot makes me an introvert and I struggle to socialise while under the influence.
This had a huge effect on my ability to form intimate relationships right up until the age of 27. This was when I left my home town, moved to Auckland, and stopped smoking pot for a period of time.
That was when it all became clear, I started to dream again (literally), and I met the mother of my children. Since then, I have started smoking again but only a little bit and not every day. If a friend offers me a joint I'll say yes, but will have it just before I leave so we can continue to have a yarn. Otherwise I would smoke it and say nothing to him for the next hour. However, just because it does that to me doesn't mean it does that to everyone else.
I certainly don't think it should be an offence to posses a little pot or grow a little for personal use. The thing I struggle with is the concept of it being sold commercially in retail outlets.
We already have liquor stores peddling one destructive substance on street corners, we don't need pot on the opposite corner being made to seem like a normal everyday thing to do.
We should let go of the minor offences, go hard on policing supply to minors or commercial, non-licensed growers, and get a tax take from wholesale cultivation for export or medicinal use.
I'll happily vote to make it not a crime but I won't support retail models in any way, shape or form. Any referendum I vote in will need to be specific about how they intend to legislate.
In more than 25 years I have never been convicted of a drug offence, so while it would be nice to not have to worry, I'd still prefer to be convicted than to see it being sold next door to the dairy selling my kids lollies.
