Thanks to the bright minds codebase at #busyorg (https://busy.org), smoke.network has managed to produce the first niche community on Steem that rewards users for their contribution to the network.

How is this possible?

Smoke.Network beta runs on the Steem Blockchain and as such, is open and free to allow our users to interact with the Steem blockchain in a way that suits them free from the censorship we have found on other User Generated Content platforms.

Why not simply use Steemit.com/Busy.org?

We believe varying communities can often have misaligned interests. Smoke.Network plans to use some of its reserves* to start purchasing Steem and Power it up to allow for a voting bot that upvotes posters that use Smoke.Network platform. This way we can incentivize our community to use our platform, later building features and upgrades that Steemit.com may not require/align themselves with.

The Smoke.Network reserves used for these purchases will come out of the marketing budget and the justification to investors and shareholders for the Steem Power is customer acquisition costs. . . Though unlike traditional sunken costs of customer acquisition, Smoke.Network will hold Steem Power as collatoral.

Does this replace the current Smoke.Networks plans on building on EOS?

No. We simply believe there is value in both platforms and that we are able to add value to both chains. We encourage all developers to work on multiple chains where possible and see the true value in synergy. We are still on track with our Roadmap that can be found on our website.

How do the SMOKE tokens fit in?

Smoke.Network held an intial contribution phase in Q3 2017 and raised 500,000 BTS. SMOKE Tokens where distributed in a transparent manner, fairly and securely via the Bitshares Decentralized Exchange (DEX). The SMOKE Token is a user issued asset (UIA), on the Bitshares (BTS) blockchain that proves ownership in the Smoke.Network.

Our beta currently uses Steem smart tokens to reward contributors. Next year we plan to release SMOKE as a native Smart token either on EOS or Steem blockchain. Once this transition is complete users will be awarded native SMOKE tokens that will be used in a similar fassion to Steem. If you would like to learn more please read our white paper.
