Hey everybody (Hi Doctor Nick!) so as you may have heard, The Canadian government is legalizing marijuana.
As you can see I’m very excited. So for over the last 6 or more months, I have been collecting articles I see written about marijuana and what measures/changes/reactions that are occurring during this process. Mind you my collection pales in comparison to how many articles have been written on this, in the time since the Canadian government announced the date of legalization.
But, I feel what I’ve collected shows of the mess we’re getting into with this ‘legalization’. Without further ado, have a look through.
Hahaha one joint?

Quite the compilation @venomnymous what a shit show. There's basically no where i can vape at my home now with these stupid laws. Not in or around our condo complex, not in my car....and i have a medical prescription. I wonder, do you know if it's ok for me to walk to a park bench to smoke? I am in AB too. That could work and will be super fun in the nasty winter or any season weather! Fuck Legalization! Fuck it to HELL. # freetheweed
Again, Great compilation! The professional driver in Spruce Grove that us mentioned above is a smart guy. God i hope this goes well.

Thanks. I had to rush it to post it in time for legalization lol I plan to do a more in-depth post. Some real concerning stuff about this new ‘legalization’.
I wouldn’t trust that park bench either, this pot police could be hiding near by. Best to dig a tunnel and smoke Up underground lol
Yeah, the professional driver makes some good points for sure. I supposed the solution they will propose is for medical users to stop driving and get a free transit pass or something lol.
Thanks again for the thoughtful comment.

Isn't it to be expected that it will be a slow process towards getting appropriate rules into place? However, while legalization might not be everything you hoped for, it is still a good step in the right direction of normalizing and gaining widespread understanding of what is actually entailed no? Yeah the blood levels need more fine tuning, however things always proceed at the pace of the slowest denomination. While the truck driver may be able to function normally, I wouldn't be surprised if many people are unable to.

The government is seeing what it can get away with. This stuff is not as alarming as the other stuff pot legalization will bring about. I will talk about that in the part two post I write.
How is a government monopolization over the sale and distribution a step in the right direction? People have always sold, distributed and consumed pot regularly prior to ‘legalization’. Things like driving under the influence of marijuana is stupid. People do it all the time, there hasn’t been much uproar about this until the government said it was going to legalize pot. Now all of a sudden it’s this big issue. No, they just want another reason to bust people and collect taxes. And other more sinister reasons I’ll will discuss in part two.
One positive I think worth noting is the pardon of people who’ve been jailed for cannabis related offences. However the downside is that they are still considered criminals and are unwelcome in other countries where pot is still illegal.
Anyways, thanks for the comment and have a great weekend!
