Arkansas Governor Signs Into Law New Hunting and Fishing License Fees for Disabled Veterans who have been awarded the "PURPLE HEART"!

Gov. Hutchinson signs bill creating resident lifetime license for disabled vets
“It’s one way to recognize and honor the service of disabled veterans in this state,” Governor Hutchinson said.>

It did not "create a resident lifetime license for disabled vets" as that already existed for 100% Permanently and Totally Disabled Veterans under Arkansas Code § 15-42-128. I should know as I have one!

Under the current law, it cost $3.00 for the "Resident Disabled Military Veteran Lifetime Combination License (VLC, $3.00)"

Lifetime Waterfowl (VLD, $7.00) and Trout Permits (VLT, $5.00) may be purchased with this license.

That makes it a TOTAL of $15.00 CURRENTLY for a Resident totally and permanently Disabled Military Veteran Lifetime Hunting License with the extra stamps.

Under the new law that brings the cost to $52.50! An INCREASE of $37.50 for those who have a lower rating of 70% or greater or 50% and recipient of the Purple Heart.

The General Assembly finds and determines that: (2) Disabled veterans of Arkansas deserve to be recognized and honored for their service and sacrifice in honorably serving the nation and this state; (3) The establishment and issuance of lifetime hunting licenses and lifetime fishing licenses in this state is a small way to recognize and honor the service of disabled veterans in this state;
