By now you have all heard that US Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick was killed in the assault on the Capitol on Wednesday.
Brian Sicknick and I had very different politics and very different lives. It’s unlikely we would have agreed on much or been friends.
All of that said, the man gave his life defending the center of American democracy when it came under assault in its darkest hour.
To Brian Sicknick and those officers on the ground that risked their lives and safety to preserve the Republic in our hour of peril, we owe an enormous debt of gratitude.
