Rule by force is the problem, imo.
Each person in your life accepts that it is ok for this person to have coercive control over that person.
You know, slavery, albeit with salaries smoothing off the sharp edges of facts.
By rejecting rule by force we eliminate the keystone holding up the corporate pyramid.
By simply continuing to work, but refusing to pay, we can short circuit the whole shebang.
The work still gets done, but now EVERYTHING is free.
Why do workers pay to get back the product of their own labor?
100% of the consumer goods in the world are the production of the hands of the wage slaves in the mines and factories.
Zero percent of the products were produced by corporate drones.
What keeps those most responsible for the very existence of consumer goods feeding from the bottom?
Crapitalusts.
How do they do that?
Effective mind control.
Break that, and it's utopia on the horizon.
The Panopticon would become youtube.
The blockchain would record our own individual episodes of jackass.
Or maybe not, but it would be up to each of us rather than the bushes and Clintons.
I can't be free alone,...please join me in the struggle to free ourselves from the illusions that control us.
This is done by freeing your own mind from the lies of the crapitalusts.
The robber barons didn't give up control, they just perfected their age old techniques.
By hiding in plane site they have disillusioned enough of us that what we have is what we get.
Open your mind, explore the impossible.
If you are tired of being a pawn in the savage games of the elites.
If not, well, then lick boots slave!!

Employment is not slavery. It is a voluntary exchange.

Lol, what is voluntary about submit to exploitation, creating $100 worth of value for $40 in wages, or starve?
I know, it's the worst system ever, except for all the others, right?
Next will you be quoting von Mises?
Sorry, Thomas, it's not your fault.

No, it's quite alright; I said that with the intention of causing discussion. In retrospect I should have been less confrontational and more questioning.
So your whole point just now is in the first couple sentences so I need to ask:
Thank you for taking the time to discuss with me! :)

Ok, Thomas, the value that you term excess is not excess to me but the price of being able to eat at all.
No money, no groceries, capiche?
I could've easily said X for the value that the worker creates, what is important is the less than full value I get in return for this work.
The employer is culpable because s/he could exist in a utopia where everything is free, except that they accept that rule by force is unavoidable and even desirable.
The consequences of this embracing of their slavery can be seen daily on the streets of Allepo.
I'm the firebrand here, Thomas, the only thing you can say to offend me is nothing at all.
As long as you are thinking I have hope.

Excellent; far too often people take things too personally or try to control what others think by controlling what they say. Thank you again for taking the time to discuss with me.
So your answer was definitely interesting but I really don't feel my question was completely answered; it could be we're talking past each other in terms of different meanings but I can't say for sure yet. I'd like to explore your position in more depth; I get the impression you are coming from the communist perspective and sadly the rhetorical divide is often so deep between communists and capitalists such as myself that civil discourse is impossible. Last time I asked about labor theory of value, for example, of a communist (in response to being told I'd misunderstood the LTOV) I was told it was, in essence, not worth his time to explain it. Perhaps he felt my question was sarcastic. I may never know.
But I digress (pardon me; I'm a fan of literature who's just finished a long book so I can get a wee bit wordy).
I'm curious because you describe that a utopia in which "everything is free" as a possible thing. I am curious as to what "everything is free" looks like to you, how you see that functioning.
To give you a bit of perspective, I am not some billionaire fat cat; I am a computer programmer who lives out of a two bedroom apartment -- a nice one, but hardly an expansive manse -- and drives a beat up car. While I defend free trade and the capitalist perspective, most of my economic action, sans government interference would actually tend to be mutualist since most in my industry own their own means of production (computers and our brains) and have already discovered the benefit of horizontal collaboration (look at how many open-source applications are as good if not better than their much more expensive and proprietary counterparts).
I am very curious and again, thank you for your time. :)

I think he may have been exasperated by your wanting to go on about religious terms that hold meaning only to others that share the religion.
Crapitalism and anarchism are matter and anti-matter but crapitalism has been so ingrained in the populace that they revere it as dogma.
It was this dogmatic aspect that shut off conversation. He could see that your were not to be persuaded, rightly so, I think?
I put up a post that will answer a lot of those questions, if you will peruse it, at your convenience, we can revisit our correspondence after?
