Car Review: 2016 Dodge Charger

Background: My name is Kurt Weare.  I live in Edmonton, Canada. I travel a lot, and as a result am renting a lot of cars. I have been meaning to start blogging about my experiences decided that would like to start blogging about cars.  I decided that Steemit was the ideal platform for me to do this.

For this particular review, we are going to focus on a  Dodge Charger

I recently rented a 2016 Dodge Charger SE from Alamo rentals in Las Vegas and drove it to Phoenix. I had the car for four days. My initial thoughts were it would be a fun car to rip through the desert but it blew away all of my expectations. 

Performance

It performed very well especially at high speeds. It hugged the road with ease. This car would be very easy to get speeding tickets in. Before you know it you are over 80. Hard to believe that a stock, no frills rental car could this type of power.

Interior

The inside of the car was impressive as well. The interior was nice and the seats were quite comfortable. Dodge has made great strides in improving their digital readouts and their entertainment center. The large touch screen made it very easy to make channel changes and very functional as well. The stereo was quite impressive as well. Clear, crisp sounds with excellent bass. Quite enjoyable.

Gas Mileage

With very few gas stations on the road to Phoenix and me driving the vehicle hard I was worried about fuel. Its roughly a 4 and half hour drive so I didn’t want to run out of fuel. To my surprise I made it to Phoenix with a half a tank left! I was stunned, to find a car with great power and fuel efficiency isn’t easy to do.

Trunk Space

Another impressive thing about the car was the trunk space and the amount of room in the vehicle. You can easily get 5 adults in the vehicle. The trunk is very spacious as well. Lots of room for luggage and golf clubs.

Overall Impression

Overall, I loved the car. It’s speed, handling, modern interior with great mileage. What else could you ask for? There were two things that I personally didn’t enjoy but that’s more a personal preference. First one is the four door option. This car doesn’t deserve to look like a sedan. That’s just me, maybe people appreciate the extra room but it does make the car look less sporty. The other thing that I don’t like is the small side windows. I know that’s the look they are going for but I found it to create some blind spots when making lane changes.

Rating

If I were to give it a rating it would have to be 4.8/5. For this price point you can’t go wrong.
