We are in Turks and Caicos right now and my wife turned 40 while we have been on vacation. I was planning on getting her something cool here, but I know she has been wanting a Louis Vuitton bag as well. I could not believe how much a freaking bag costs! Another thing my wife has always wanted is a Volkswagen Cabrio. She had one in college and has wanted one ever since she had to sell hers because it was simply not a reliable car anymore. While we have been on vacation we have seen two cars that were perfect, but one sold because I was dumb and tried to lowball the seller. I am in the real estate world and always trying to get a great deal. I could not help myself trying to get a great deal on her car as well. I have gotten great deals on all of my cars, and it is just the way I am wired! Here is the car we missed.
However, we just found another car on Facebook that is perfect for her as well. It is in Florida, which makes it difficult since we are on Colorado, but we can make it work. The cool thing about the Florida car is that it is half the price of the other car we found on EBay and has even better colors. We are in the process of trying to buy it, then we will have to figure out shipping, etc.
I know this is not the prototypical commercial with the husband buying a brand new Mercedes as a present with a bow on it, but I have never bought a new car in my life and honestly don't ever plan too. I would rather buy a 20-year-old car that has already lost its value and is ready to go back up.
For those wondering about my new Aston Martin purchase
I did complete the purchase of my 1981 Aston Martin V8 Volante. However, I still do not have the car. Part of Colorado law states that the seller must provide a car that passes emissions and the car has not passed. I have paid for the car, have title to the car, but do not have the car. It is still at the mechanic's shop 40 miles away from me. However, the mechanic found that the problem with the emissions test was a clogged catalytic converter. So, instead of putting the crappy factory exhaust back on, we are sourcing an aftermarket high-performance exhaust for the Aston. I wish I had the car, it sucks I have only seen and driven it once, but I have owned it for a month. However, that will make it so much sweeter when I get it, with a proper exhaust and improved performance.
From what I see you are an excellent businessman, I hope you can conclude your deals successfully. The Aston Martin looks amazing, I hope you can drive it soon.
