The upgraded Dodge Demon by Hennessey

in car •  6 years ago

The standard Demon produces 840bhp and a standing 1/4 mile in 9.65 seconds which for a production car is awesome.

However, let Hennessey have a play and with a few tweaks like replacing the 2.7l supercharger with a 4.7l one and a few other fuel and exhaust mods and you get this fantastic upgrade.

1035bhp at the engine and that's 880bhp at the rear wheels and a 9.14 1/4 mile at 152mph. The 0-60 drops from 2.3 seconds to 1.9 seconds.

Watch the video and see the tyres deform on launch.

Love the idea of a faster Demon as much as the next guy and achieving over 1000HP is impressive. But I think that this isn't such a huge improvement or something that Hennessey Performance should have even done. The Lotus conversion and the F150 Raptor they do are pretty cool and actually a lot better than the starter car but this is just not that cool

People always want more and Hennessey have the reputation to provide a product they are willing to warranty. Many other bolt on upgrades will become available but I doubt many will have a factory backing.
Sleeper type cars like a F150 can be just as much fun. I certainly enjoy my 2.5t SUV with over 500HP when next to a boy racer.
