My search and Interest in blockchain innovations across Africa continues with this post. About nine (9) days ago, I shared a post about Binance partnering with Crypto Savannah and Blockchain Association of Uganda. Today is about Ethiopia’s partnership with Cardano (ADA).

Cardano (ADA) is a Cryptocurrency just like Bitcoin (BTC) and it is also on the list of top 10 Cryptocurrencies and is currently ranked 6th based on market capitalization. Also, the Cardano Development team is currently working on developing its platform and is the verge of adding two more Testnets to its blockchain.

The Ethiopian Ministry of Science and Technology has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cryptocurrency Cardano (ADA). By this deal, Ethiopians will be trained on how to use blockchain technology and apply it in their agricultural and technological sectors.

The CEO of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson made the announcement of the partnership deal with this tweet:

Just signed an MOU with the Ethiopian Ministry of Science and Technology to explore training blockchain developers and use Cardano in the Agritech Industry.

John O’connor, Director of African Operations at Cardano had this to add:

This year we will offer our first course in Africa, probably in Ethiopia, and expect the first cohort of Ethiopian developers to be contributing to Cardano code by the end of the year.

We have had Ghana, Uganda and now Ethiopia, which African Country do you think will be next in line to adopt blockchain technology and Cryptocurrency?

Cameroon (My country), I guess lol!

Very nice article, I'm interested to see how Cardano will be used in agriculture, and I look forward to reading more of your posts about blockchain in African countries! :-)

I feel like DENT could be very big in these locales. If you've not heard of them, they are a blockchain telecom company that will allow people to buy and sell mobile data or even earn it by watching advertisements. Effectively reducing the costs for telecom services worldwide.

I haven't heard about DENT before but I will research about it. Also, I will appreciate you helping out with a link or more to ease my research. Anyways, thank you for visiting and introducing DENT to me and others that have visited or will visit this post. Cheers!

DENT looks a great project but I'll study it more. I was able to get their twitter account and it appears DENT will be listed on Cobinhood tomorrow. Thank you!

Yes, they are also rolling out their service to the first batch of countries that will be able to utilize the platform this month, with more to follow the rest of the year. I'm not sure if they have stated which countries will be first, but they will eventually service 130 different countries for mobile data. You can see their roadmap here which talks about their goals.

Thank you, my friend.

I tend to think there is a lot of unexploited crypto potential in Africa. The current adoptions amazing and more coins looking for global appeal are turning to virgin markets.

@gigpen, I just visited your blog to give you a few votes but I realized your latest post is 2 months old. You shouldn't give if your posts are not being voted. You can't simply survive here only by commenting. Make friends by reading and commenting but always have a votable post.

I encourage you to work on a post.

Thanks @akomoajong. Have been dormant for the two months but am back. Got your back!

Ok!, I'm happy reading this comment.
