hi dear @wcy, this is very good post, but I think what you described is only valid for large companies. in any case it would be fabulous to be able to speak freely with your boss or to have consultants who help you progress;)) in addition to everything you said I think it takes a lot of motivation and self-confidence to think you deserve a higher level and responsibility , which I have never had for example. congratulations on your work and on your curie vote

Thanks @road2horizon, you are right, there are certainly things on the list that are more amenable at larger companies but that doesn't mean that you can't apply it to other situations at smaller companies or if you are working for yourself in some way. For example, you may not be able to speak to your boss (you may not have the right relationship or the boss doesn't want to hear you thinking about moving into something else), but in that case, you can lean more heavily on other people outside of your company or in your network.
