DEAR STEEMIANS,
I would love to share my short story about carnival called MASOPUST. I love this carnival so I would love to share this one with you.
The first mention of them dates back to the 13th century and probably followed the ancient worship of the wine god Bacchus. (Bacchus was the Roman god of agriculture, wine and fertility copied from the Greek god Dionysus.)
Start at beginning of the year in the Czech Republic. In addition to the traditional celebrations, It ll bring you back to middle age. Festival is full of bizarre masks and costumes, opulent balls & never-ending feasting.
From February 6 to 17,thousands of mask get on march. You can see a lot of clowns, artist, scary creatures, bears, animals, and other crazy costumes. As an bonus program there is many kind of traditional Czech food. Believe me if you visit Masopust you fall in love with this PAGAN!
This year, you can visit romantic Prague and even connect with the masquerade Crystal Ball held on the holiday of all of those in love. And do not forget that love goes through the stomach.
The Masopust festivity is one of the authentic traditional events that you can experience with all senses. Share the stories of Czech traditions you are going to discover with your friends.
Its just amazing and We glad we can rent some of our masks and costumes to such a event!
