I did this piece when the return of the X-files was announced.
Oh, the age of innocence, when I thought that the series would return triumphant, more relevant than ever in the age of Post-Truth (a subject we are going to have to talk about at length at some point).
Oh, the feeling of disenchantment when rusty writing and delirious plotting combined with a total lack of discipline on taking one creative path and sticking to it instead of constantly changing tone and testing what sticks.
Still I had to draw the characters in their present aged glory. It's not like they were treated better in the series anyway.
