Alfa GTV from the late 70's vs early 80's (Alfetta)steemCreated with Sketch.

Basically, every cool model has the same destiny. First, they are desirable. Then their price depreciates. Unfortunate cars get purchased by idiots. After 5 years of abusing and neglecting those poor cars are sent to a scrap yard. Five more years will pass until enthusiasts start saving them. Their price starts growing up. And cool cars become desirable again.

If you want to preserve a piece of history, go for those gems in their early twenties. You can easily find a nice, complete car for less money than you will pay for a laptop.

The newer model has a plastic front bumper, with the turn signals incorporated into the bumper.

Let's check Alfa Romeo GTV, cars made just before and just after 1980.

I prefer the "new one"

The older one had split tail lights - I prefer that style rather than a giant cluster that was installed on a newer model.

Interior

For me, the old model is much more desirable because - there is no speedometer?! How fast do you go? Who cares, you are fast enough. If you really, really want to know the number, there is a speedometer, at the central console.

Gemology :D

And of course, cuore sportivo:

I remember the GTV6, was a very nice car with heaps of power (one of my work colleges used to own one).

I think that I've seen only 2 GTV6 on the street since 2000... One in Belgrade, one in Salonica, Greece. They became extremely rare :(
