Magic of depreciation - F10

in cars •  6 years ago  (edited)

It's time to start thinking about a new car, and F10 was my favourite for its class since the beginning.

It's still aggressive, still fresh

I was wondering what was the cost of this car once it was new, in order to compare how reasonable it is to pick the stronger option:

There is something interesting... At first, Top versions are falling like Steem a brick.
At "sweet spot" all the versions cost the same.
As time passes by, stronger become more expensive again.

During the first 5 years, depreciation is 30.000 EUR, or 6.000 EUR/year, or 500 EUR/month
From the fifth to eight, the price will drop only 5.000 EUR, or 1.650 EUR/year, or a bit less than 150 EUR/month

What is your philosophy, how do you choose your cars?

More facts...

Fuel, 1.500 EUR, essentials 250, paperwork 500 = some 2.000 - 2.500 EUR/year

  • Depreciation, F10, 1.500 EUR/year
  • E60, newer, 1.000 EUR/year
  • E60, older, 500 EUR/year

Total

F10 costs 3.500 - 4.000 EUR/year

E60 costs 3.000 - 3.500 EUR/year

ANY CAR costs 2.000 - 2.500 EUR/year

For 1.000 EUR/year more

For the additional 500 EUR/year...
