I've been on Steemit for a few months now, I guess (I've sort of lost track). My main goal was to use it as a way to get my Barracuda Project a little more exposure and maybe make a few pennies off of it.
My dad, who would've been 68 today but he passed away in April of 2012, had a '67 Barracuda that was rotting away in his yard, and my sister and I convinced him to leave it to us in his will.

Long story short, it has become mine alone to pour money and time into fixing. There are no ill feelings about this. I wanted to do it, my sister decided she did not. End of story.
Once we got dad's affairs sorted through, each of us four kids got a small chunk of money, as well. My small chunk has gone straight into this project. So I inherited a junk car and all the money is going to fix it. That tiny budget has pretty much been blown through and I still have the engine to fix.
Sure, that money would've been a step towards fixing the roof or the fence, but I decided that since it was 'extra' that it would go to the car. My hope is that I will actually get that money back (and hopefully more) when the car is fixed and I can sell it.
A friend of mine asked if I was still blogging about the project (since I also have a facebook page devoted to it, and it's also my instagram handle). This winter has not yielded much progress, even though I swore I would work on the bits I could do indoors, this year.
After these two big storms, with all the 60-100 mph wind gusts, I am eager to get the car off jacks and take the carport down. In the process of pushing the heavy snow off the top, I put yet another hole in the tarp (it's just a pole structure with a tarp, not a fancy metal one).
So after the inquiry from my friend, I posted on the old blogspot blog, a task list.
It's daunting, but manageable, I think.
Torque all rear bolts (axle, etc)
Fill differential
Assemble rear drum brakes and connect all rear lines
Install fuel tank and connect lines (plus close off vent line on sender unit)
Finish sanding, filling, painting drivers side floor
Find nuts for front seat and reinstall
Assemble front disc brakes and attach all front lines
Bleed brakes
Have tires mounted to original rims and balanced as best as possible
Torque all front suspension bolts
...Then all the engine stuff will commence...fingers will be crossed, prayers will be said, animals will be sacrificed (in the form of celebratory burgers, hopefully) and breath will be held...
Spring will be here soon and I am eager to get moving.
