Introduction to Dream Car Department
We all have a dream car. Personally, I've been a long time Porsche drooler. All day I think about is Porsche.. (And tits). Would like to share a collection of the rarest Porsche. Very handful of them exist. These are owned by dreamers. Dreamers who made it happen. I hope you do too.
This post will cover
- 9 exclusive models that help you to create your own.
Sonderwunch is Porsche's invitational only program for the die-hard wealthy Porschephiles. Ask what you want for your vehicle, and they deliver! As mentioned before, not everyone has the access to it. Porsche, one of the bigger manufacturers, has no time messing with small petty add-ons that bring not so much of margin and your passion towards the brand has to be tested overtime. Porsche provides a list that will turn your dream to live. Let's take a peek at what Porsche has to offer. Back in the 50s they offered windshield washer as special features of the program. These days, the special treatment includes, any desirable paint colors, interior options, performance level ups such as suspension, brake, engine upgrades, and moreover, body styling!
Porsche 997 Speedster
Only 356 units built to commemorate 25 years of Sonderwunch program in remembrance of the original Porsche 356 Speedster, the iconic model in the 50s. For this model, they specially confine the variant to to two colors: Pure Blue, and Carrera White.
Porsche 935 Street
It all had a humble beginning like all the greats. Started it off as 930. With idea and vision from the TAG Group—the group which also owns 25% share of Mclaren Technology Group—founder, Mansour Ojjeh, underwent series of surgery of mounting parts from high performance 935.
With a beautiful iconic slant nose with wide body, the beast was born with turbo 3.3L engine, race suspension, race level brakes. The message was clear; the sole purpose of the rebirth is to race. The paint of the exterior was specially ordered and named "Brilliant Red". This shows Porsche will go as far as it can to receive acknowledgement of "perfected piece" from their customers.
993 Speedster
Only two were built in the 90's. One went to the owner, Ferdinand Porsche for his 60th birthday and the other to another well-known Porschephile Jerry Seinfeld. The car features a lowered hood, and humped rear end, which allows relatively low raked windshield. And the reconfigured interior was a most beautiful thing your eye can fathom at the time.
Porsche 964 Cabriolet
Very little known about the model. Not much information is available for this model. The looks that stands out the most is the nice whale tail spoiler. There are only 8 built. This variant is literally RARE.
Porsche 997 Sport Classic
This is just special. It offers something unavailable for other 997s; the wider C4S body but here's the catch—rear-wheel drive. There are detailed cosmetic tweaks inside-and-outside. Starting off from the interior, everything covered in leather or retrimmed, this features a new gear lever, new seats with new door-cards and not to mention the new clock face.
Speaking of the exterior, painted in unique flat shade of Sport Classic Grey, Fuchs-style retro alloy wheels with unique front lip, and mounted with the ‘Ducktail’ spoiler at the rear. It just look phenomenal.
Porsche 991 GTS Club Coupe
Only 13 made and has a price tag that makes your partner give you that look, questioning your sanity. But another amazing fact that make you even closer to buying it is Porsche had dedicated seven years to perfect it and was made to commemorate the Porsche Club of America's 60th anniversary. The club took its first journey in 1955 when Porsche wasn't importing many cars to US. Currently, the largest automotive marque-specific clubs in the world. The most visible difference is the non-metallic color, named Club Blau but we can't also look pass the 20-inch Sport Classic wheels painted in semi-gloss black with polished centers and rims. Stainless steel door sill guards that read GTS Club Coupe, doors marked with "Club Coupe," and a leather-wrapped book about the vehicle just makes you extremely special as the owner of the car.
964 Turbo S Leichtbau
One displayed at the Porsche Museum in Suttgart, there are only 86s available around the car. Leichtbau means "light build", this variant underwent 180kg weight loss from a 964 turbo's stock mass. Porsche wanted the car to be a road legal turbo that would have an increased engine output, enhanced handling, and style differences to showcase its uniqueness.
Porsche 930 LE
It is an SE without a slant nose front. The LE stands for limited edition and confused many aficionados into thinking that this was going to be the final 911 Turbo in history. Of course, this is not the case. Porsche's 15-year tenure as one of the most fearsome sports cars on this planet is highlighted in the center console's gold plaque.
Porsche 993 Turbo Cabriolet
Why the f*ck this cabriolet lands on this list of exclusivity? Porsche only made 14 of these droptop air-cooled turbo charged 993s. This particular engine, with its single-plug heads and 7.5:1 compression ratio, produced 360 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Unlike the Turbos of today and the official 993 Turbo, power is sent solely to the rear wheels.
The exterior looks like this. [ 911 Dark Knight Turbo S. I like batman :) ]
The interior looks like that. [ Interior specifically handled by Singer ]
What's yours when you make it to the top?
For me my dream car was the Lamborghini Countach. Just a ridiculous vehicle. Especially how it only got better and better, and more and more ridiculous.
That said, my favorite Porsche of all time is of course the Whale Tale 930.
BTW, I ask that you follow me. I will be doing my introduction post soon, and think you will enjoy my content. I am an automotive professional with over 15 years experience, and I do only the higher end European stuff. I followed you. good day.
