My wishlist for retirement

in cars •  7 years ago  (edited)

I read @iamjadeline 's earlier post about her retirement wishlist, and thought that I should have a wishlist too.

So I sat down with a cup of joe and started thinking hard, and came up with a very different wishlist:

Jaguar F-type any model

The F-type is not meant to beat speed records - it's about cruising in style and making a ruckus when you put your foot down. This is my dream grand tourer, even if just the V6, for me and my missus to go on road trips after retirement.

Lotus Exige Cup 260

I have always desired an Elise, and if I haven't thrown my back by the time I retire, I would love to get my hands on one for the occasional backroad blasts. What better than the latest and greatest Cup 260.

Ford Focus RS

Not really for me, but for my kid when he comes of age, which is about the same time I retire (I hope!). Nothing screams boy racer more than this fast Ford. Sorry Evan, you'll have to learn to drive a stickshift like your old man did.

Fine, it's for me too.

Tesla Model X

My ideal people mover. The family car. Hopefully by the time I exit the workforce, the infrastructure for electric vehicles are already well established.

Suzuki Swift Sport (ZC31S or ZC32S)

Last but not least, the only JDM in this list. What use would I have for this car after I retire? the cheap beater that I'll drive to the supermarket for when the missus needs me to get milk or eggs. If I'm gonna do that, I might as well have some fun while I'm at it.

Yea...so not the list you probably expected, and you are probably thinking these cars will be obsolete after 20 years. Who cares...it's called a retirement wishlist, not a retirement plan. Plus I probably can't afford most of these anyway so there.

For now, I plan to live in the moment, cherish the people around me and enjoy life whenever possible!

I was thinking of other thing when I was reading your title. Then it was all cars.
It's free to dream so you can have whatever you want. :) Lol but we will never know all of these will come true. ^^

You can write about your retirement wishlist too, it just so happens mine has more to do with my hobby hahaha

Nice list, those Jaguar F_Types really do sound good too, first time I heard one I couldn't believe it passed the decibel test :D

I only saw one on the road so far when it passed me by on the highway, yes.... it was loud!

You really love cars!!!! Bless you can own them one by one. Your children sure can have mush fun hop into different cars each day. A very different special wish list!!! @dxn, you rock it!

I hope to catch'em all also like pokemon haha

But it is so true that for now we live in the moment and cherish people around us. 😊

live in the "now", I always say : )

Why you want Tesla Model X? It looks so huge and the falcon wing is the party piece of the car. Some more there's no paddle shift huhuhu.

why u want paddleshifter on an EV? @_@

Fulamak.. another retirement post. haha
with Steemit, nothing is impossible. Way to go bro!

Still waiting for the day I can pay for a brand new car with STEEM haha!

Honestly im done buying new cars. 5 years and already crying for maintenance this and that.

Planning to get a classic car where i can service DIY at home with easy to find parts and zero electronics. Theyre more economical and much fun to drive as well.

My personal take tho

Classic cars comes with their own caveats, namely availability of parts. I've seen many ambitious classic project cars abandoned due to the difficulty in finding parts for them.

Go for cars from the late 80s to 90s, not old enough so there are still third party parts on the market, and not new enough to be filled to the brim with electronics.

yeah cars from 80s n 90s are the classics that i meant :)

Hondas especially

Ah OK, I thought you mean those classic minis or beetles lol.

Yep that era has some very nice cars!

Hnnnghhh steem project carsssss!

ZC31S lai

faster!

you first!

both my cars can play with now

More like dream car than retirement wish list
kek

both are not mutually exclusive :P
