The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 became the Nürburgring's fastest sedan, clocking 7 minutes and 23 seconds.
Jaguar managed to take the record at Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, who had completed the lap in 7:32, and improved it by 9 seconds with an XE SV Project 8 identical to the production ones.
It should be noted that unlike the Giulia Quadrifoglio which is sold worldwide in series, the Jaguar will be produced only 300 copies. Nevertheless, the English group wanted to demonstrate to its Italian and German competitors that it was equally capable of building high-performance sedans.
To do this, they have housed under the hood of the XE SV Porject 8 a 5.0-liter turbo V8 engine delivering 600 hp. The sedan can thus reach 100 km / h since stopping in less than 3.5 seconds and drive at a maximum speed of 321 km / h. His new record shows that handling has not been forgotten in the development.
Commenting on the Nurburgring record, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations General Manager John Edwards said, "SVO exists to push the boundaries of performance, luxury and off-road capabilities. The XE SV Project 8, assembled by hand, pushes this principle to the limit, exploiting the exceptional performance of Jaguar's most compact four-door sedan. The Nürburgring record highlights our commitment to deliver the most extreme Jaguar of all time to customers who will soon discover this sensational sedan. "
