Porsche has recently announced doubled investments for the electrification of the brand, which will begin with the launch of the Mission E sedan. The German brand did not give all the details on this investment plan, but Porsche already entrusts to study the Macan case that could quickly be electrified.

Porsche customers seem definitely ready to go electric. This is in any case what one of the members of the steering committee, which explains that the manufacturer is already thinking of increasing the rate of initial production to produce some 20,000 units of the Mission E sedan from the first year of launch.

For a builder who sold nearly 250,000 cars last year, that would represent almost 10% of its sales in electricity at once. A sacred goal that does not scare the German brand, visibly well prepared for this eventuality.

Porsche is so confident about customer expectations that the next step could be taken quickly. Detlev von Platen told our Automotive News colleagues that Porsche was already thinking about electrifying Macan, Porsche's bestseller.

We can imagine, in any case, a hybrid or electric version of this SUV for its renewal in the near future. If customers expect as much power on a sedan, it's a safe bet that it would be the same for an SUV.
