With 182 hp for 635 kg and a 0 to 60 mph (97 km / h) shot in 4 seconds, the Vanderhall Edison² has enough to piss off a lot of small sports, including the home of Caterham, yet known to be one of the experts in the field. And with a range of about 320 km, the electric three-wheeler from Utah is almost at the level of its thermal counterparts. But in what area can you fish for Vanderhall Edison? The price, maybe? Well no: with an entry-level at $ 34,950 (about 29,000 euros), the American is almost $ 10,000 cheaper than a Caterham Seven 280, the most accessible model proposed on the other side of the Atlantic, whose performance is less flattering (0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds). While a Polaris Slingshot starts in the United States from $ 20,000, but again, the Edison² displays higher benefits. In addition, its look is a little easier to assume than the Polaris.

Even cheaper in thermal

If the philosophy of the Vanderhall Edison² you like but you want to stay true to the essence, know that the brand already markets two other thermal models, the Venice and Laguna. The first is also cheaper than the Edison² with a call price of $ 30,000. In place of the electric motors that drive the front wheels, there is a 1.4 turbo block of GM origin developing 180 hp. The performances remain blazing with a 0 to 60 mph achieved in 4.5 seconds. To return to the Edison², the first deliveries are scheduled in the United States for the second quarter of 2018.
