Still during the Bonham's Tupelo Automobile Museum Auction, this stunning 1960 Chrysler 300F Convertible will heading to auction for about $US 100,000.

It's unfortunate that the Tupelo Automobile Museum (Mississippi) closes and must sell all these cars, but it's a rare opportunity to acquire one of them in pristine condition like this 300F.

The Chrysler’s new series 300 began in 1955 on the base of New Yorker hardtop coupe with front sheetmetal and the most powerful engine for Chrysler, a FirePower 331 ci Hemi V8. Success on the NASCAR racing tracks.

For ten years, the letter series progressed alphabetically :

  • 300D in 1958 with fuel injection,
  • 300E in 1959 with a 413cc engine,
  • 300F in 1960 with ram induction and 400 hp,
  • and 300G in 1961 with a new design of the frond end, grill and headlights.

Just to see the evolution, this is 1961 Chrysler 300G sold by Mecum last year :

With a design of Virgil Exner (American designer for Chryler and Studebaker), the Chrysler 300F is the sixth version with astonishing performance. The modified version (300F Specials) can reach 305 kmh and had the Flying Mile class record at Daytona Beach.

In 1960, only 1250 F models were produced included 248 convertibles.

Yep the seats :

which swivel outward to ease passenger entry and exit.

Great looking car with its tailfins.

I like to be a little red fish :-)

The little red fishes are nice, but their action range is a bit limited, isn't it?
