3 common questions that are asked

Here are 3 of the most common questions that are asked when looking for a good Auto shop to have their vehicles worked on. For those of you that are new to my page, I am a Mechanic that loves cars. Here are some tips and answers from my Mechanics point of view.

1. How can you find a Trustworthy Technician?
   Simple. There are so many ways to find trustworthy shops. You can of course ask your friends in person or utilize social media. It is so easy you could post that question on your Facebook page and all of your friends would love to share their opinions and stories. Also, if you know someone who has the same vehicle as you, then you could ask what shop they take their vehicle to. Feel the shop out, does the mechanic take the time to explain to you what's wrong with your vehicle and what the problems could lead to if you do not take care of the problem?
   

2.Are you getting ripped off?
When you take your vehicle to a shop and the Technicians begin to tell you all of the things wrong with your vehicle, you start to wonder if they are telling you the truth. Well, the best thing to do is to shop around. Yes, take your vehicle to two different shops and compare the results to one another.
At my business I do a diagnostic on the vehicle, create an estimate and if the customer decides to stay and have me fix their vehicle I waive the diagnostic fee. I like to take those steps to show the customer that I took my time and care about their opinions.
Be sure to learn about your vehicle so you are not taken advantage of. One way you can do that is Google you vehicle where you can find out some of the common problems that your vehicle is prone to having. You can also take it to the Dealership. I personally think they charge a bit much but their are some advantages.

3.Is it better to use premium gas or should you just stay with regular unleaded?
The truth of the matter is no using premium gas over regular gas has no benefit for you everyday commuter vehicle. Modern cars and trucks have knock sensor fitted to the engine that communicate with the ecu of the vehicle and adjusts the engines timing accordingly. Its simple If your car does not require premium gas there is no need to use it and if it does you must use it. However, I deal with a lot of performance vehicles and it is a must to use premium gas.
