Today I bring to you this Austin Gipsy I a state of restoration from the all British day in Brisbane Australia.
The Austin Gipsy was produced from 1958-1968. It was fitted with a 2.2l petrol four cylinder engine with 62hp power is not everything and torque is more important for this type of vehicle at 110 lbs/ft at just 1,500 rpm.or a 2.2l diesel engine with 55hp.
Fitted with a four speed gear box with synchromesh on all forward gears, and a transfer box giving the operator the choice of either rear wheel drive in high ratio, neutral for power take off or four wheel drive in low ratio.
Suspension was of four wheel independent system that was called Flexitor this being a rubber based setup.
Thanks for following along with me on this series from the all British day.
