Today's featured vehicle is this old Daihatsu Delta light truck. These are based on the Toyota Dyna trucks. Toyota owns Daihatsu though most of the diesel engines fitted to these are Daihatsu made. This series of truck was made from 1970-1977 in Japan and some made in South America, Australia and New Zealand and is the first generation.
These mostly had a 3.2l four cylinder diesel engine with a few petrol four cylinder engines as well. They had the basic leaf sprung suspension setup with rear wheel drive. With cab over engine design.
Not many of these first series around in Australia any more.
Thanks for viewing and hope you have a great day/night.

It was very rare over here to have a truck of that sort, let alone a daihatsu. Very rare indeed.

We probably had more of the early Japanese vehicles here in Australia then you had over there.
