The other week on my way home from the hospital in Hobart i hit a Wallaby. It jump across the road at great speed from the scrub on the road side. I was down to 70 in a 100kl/h zone as i had seen some animals loitering about.
The Wallaby continued on into the scrub after the hit so guess it was Ok. Though my car not looking so good now.
Now i set about fixing the cracked bumper cover and the broken grill. I mixed up some Loctite 5 minute epoxy. Drilled some holes in the cover to run some zip ties through in behind the grill area so they can not be seen. These will help in holding the cover together with the epoxy.
Now i use more epoxy to glue the broken grill back together i also use more zip ties, a peg and precisely placed cutting pliers to keep the grill together while the glue sets.
Back together now looking much better. I will give the epoxy some days to fully set. Then when i get good weather and the time i will cleen up the cracked sections fill and paint.
Don't hit Wallaby's they ruin your day.
Whoà thats so weird hearing about hitting a wallaby. We only ever hear about moos or deer here.

We have some deer here but no moos. I would not like to hit either of those animals.

My aunt hit a Red Kangaroo once, it did some meaty damage to her car! Brilliant repair skills mate, you must've saved a lot of money as most people would buy a new grill.

It sure did do some damage. Thanks it will do for now and it is not a show car. I have repaired the right hand side of the bumper as it had been damaged before i bought this car. If i get another good hit it might be time to just get a new bumper.
