Wolseley 6/80

in cars •  6 years ago

Today I bring to you this Wolseley 6/80 from the All British day in Brisbane Australia.

These Wolseley 6/80 cars are based on the Morris six. Both being on sale from 1948 with production finishing in 1954. The Wolseley was the up market model with much nicer interior and a more powerful engine (72 bhp) due to being fitted with twin carburetors against the single on the Morris version (66 bhp). The feature I find most interesting with these vehicles is they had a straight six 2.2 L engine with single over head cam and being gear driven. Very rare for any vehicle in 1948 to have a OHC engine.

Looks impressive in black.

Thanks for following along with me on this series from the All British day.

That is nice to know, unfortunately for us vintage cars are rear here, you see some of the 60s and 70s cars rotten away in mechanic workshops or road sides because the owners have abandoned them due to lack of parts to repair and maintain them.
