Don't buy expensive headlight bulbs!

A year ago the head light in my 2002 honda crv went out. I youtubed how to replace it and it was easy enough so I went to my local auto parts store to buy a new bulb. The basic sylvania bulb was $15 dollars and the extra vision bulb was $26. The extra vision sylvania bulb had more downroad light and a was brighter. So I decided to go with the more expensive one. A year and a half later the bulb went out and i was pretty disapointed as I had the basic on last much longer in the past. After doing some more research I found that the extra vision bulbs have a life of 160 hours and that the average driver uses 100 hours of headlight driving a year. The basic bulb had a life of 1110 hours. Thats a HUGE difference! Unless you are doing a lot of nighttime driving off the grid somwhere you'd be much better of the with basic bulb. $15 for ten years instead of $26 for only a year and a half just because the light was brighter. Make sure to compare lifetime of the bulb and not just brightness vs. price!
