2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class

in cars •  7 years ago

Everyone loves the G Wagon for its old school styling and its ability to drive off the road in luxury. Mercedes-Benz didn't want to change that or make it different from the earlier model. Sticking to the original boxy design of the G Wagon had been of utmost importance while coming up with this new model. It was specifically conveyed to the designer's to retain the original G-Wagon proportion and looks.

The SUV has maintained its classic look but with a harmonious and luxury interior. It gets a new multi information display on front dashboard and the interior feels a lot more luxurious to human eye. The door's still open and close with the same old sound. Not to forget the old school locking system on the door. It is carried on to this model as well making it feel very different and kind of special. They have made subtle changes to the G-Class to make it look alive and fresh. The new tagline is Stronger than Time, we'll have to wait to find it out.

What's New?

The G-Class now gets a new independent suspension with double-wishbone front axle, nine-speed automatic gearbox and a new transfer case. It is also said to be 170 kilograms lighter than its predecessor.
The SUV is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 producing 416 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. It is also heard that Mercedes-Benz has dubbed a new mode called the G-Mode. We'll have to wait to find out what it actually does.

The prices are not revealed yet but it is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2018.
