I know that most of you guys are curious petrol-heads who already know much about the upcoming presentation of Toyota Supra in Geneva this year, but I want to be on the save side and write a couple of rows just in case somebody missed it.

After years and years of speculations, unconfirmed information and paparazzi photos Toyota finally revealed the new Supra to the world. For now it is considered to be only a racing concept project which was built and designed in collaboration with BMW.

Full name of the model is GR Supra. For those who don’t know GR stands for Gazoo Racing – the racing department in Toyota.

The fact that Supra should be a sports car made the GR engineers free to unleash their full imagination and combine their master mind ideas in that one model. Using the most light weight parts and materials they’ve made sure that not a single unnecessary kilogram would be added. What could be more exciting than that? Is the fact that they will give that to the regular street model as well intriguing?

Japanese magazine Super Car was the first media to publish the final look of the new Supra. They said that Toyota’s new child would be a real rival to Porsche 911. In fact they believe Supra will be much faster than the Porsche.

Under the hood Supra is hiding 3.0-litre 6 cylinder engine with 340 PS and a maximum torque of 450 Nm at 5200 rpm. Arguably whether for good or not this badass looking Supra is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Nice post, thanks. Being petrol head myself I really anticipated to see it in metal at Geneva and it's really eye pleasing. Now what's left for Toyota is to position it right. Let's not forget car is developed together with the next BMW Z4 and I truly think something wearing Supra's legendary name should be sat above BMW Z4. Not to have Z4 as simply more upmarket proposition as opposed to Toyota's . I do have slight concerns over it, but it remains to be seen.

In my oppinion the Z4 will be far far away from the spotlight. Of course Supra will be way above Z4. On the other hand the german roadster will be fun to drive definitely no doubt but no place for comparison here.

The car looks soo dope !

Well Supra was in a deep hybernation for more than 15 years. In that time Toyota realised the number of fans of Supra so of course they woke up and created that beast.

Wow, its going to be a rival to the 911? and even faster!? its going to be like the 1990's all over again.

I know, right :D

Gazoo Racing.....

Looks exactly how I would imagine a 2018 Supra to look! They really need to actually make it :(

To me it looks more like the next Toyota GT 86.

Looks so good, but probably no stick lol

This is such an interesting article, it brings back memories of my old 1987 Supra, however this one is absolutely stunning. 100% Upvote and resteem.

The prettiest Toyota of this decade, I really hope that they'll give it a Manual option for those that want it, but I'm fine with an automatic myself.

I heard that the power plant for this car will be supplied by BMW? And that we may see a production version by 2019?
