W221 prefacelift you're absolutely right! As for the engine that's easy: I heard it :) The big V8 has quite a different sound from the others. Come to think of it it might actually be the S550 as there probably wasn't a 500 in the prefacelift models.

NOT! 550 designation is US-Spec, america only. DOes not matter if its prefl or not, it was just abbreviation used for all W221 with 5,4 v8 and 4,6 in FL guise, in the USA.
