The Subaru Levorg is a very smart touring all wheel Drive estate car or a sporty tourer if you prefer.

It retails for just under £31,000 and offers its driver permanent four-wheel-drive, Subaru's signature iSight system and refinement in bucket loads and considering its running in a linear Tronic gearbox it performs well too.

We have the GT model and it's powered by a 2L injection flat four boxer engine which is coupled to a new lineartronic gearbox also features SI Drive, this tweaks the car setting to enable a sporty feel or more progressive.

It's very well trimmed is extremely practical one thing about this car is it is not particularly high off the ground, just look at the XV or the Outback they are the opposite, however it does look exceptionally smart, just be wary of those side skirts when you're doing a bit of offroading.

The LED headlamps corner and have high beam assist it has a front monitor and a reversing camera you can even opt for parking sensors or you could get a roof box or one of the bicycle racks.

Economy wise around 35 if you haven't got a lead foot, which isn't too bad when your running a 2L petrol.

It's sporty inside and very well trimmed, leather with blue stitching, soft touch plastics everywhere even the rear seats recline and electric in the front.

If you need an estate car that you want to go touring in and look the part that offers you engaging driving, you certainly want to have a look at the Levorg and did you know it is a portmanteau of LEgacy, reVOlution and touRinG.

If you been watching the latest motor shows a month or so ago in Japan they unveiled the new Levorg concept which is likely to come with a 1.8 turbocharged engine whether it is manual or CVT remains to be seen, here's hoping for a manual.

I've never had a Subaru...I don't mind them though. I've driven a few and found them to feel solid and stable on the road with a good level of quality and features. A nice review as always team!

Yes i've a soft spot for them, randomly i drove a bug eye today with 340bhp, that was fun, slammed on coil overs with a HKS dump valve, this was like a train in every sense of the word, it didn't feel quite as refined as this though - thank you
