When the Honda Insight met the Suzuki Jimny at The British Motor Show Press LaunchsteemCreated with Sketch.

We met up with our good friend Shahzad Sheikh - aka The Brown Car Guy, at The British Motor Show Press Launch this week, and as we were both in press cars, we thought we should compare and contrast them...

As you can see, they are both greeny-yellow in colour - and they are both powered by petrol engines, however that's really where the comparison ends. The Insight is a Hybrid, and is powered by a 1.0 litre engine that has built in IMA.

The Jimny is powered by a 1.5 litre engine, and is "just built for going off-road" As we had trouble getting over speed bumps in the Insight, it couldn't be more of a contrast...

It's amazing how different the ride height is with these two cars - just look at how low down the Insight is!

Both of us at Planet Auto absolutely love both cars - they each have their own unique features and attributes that sing to us, and we would happily own both tomorrow if we had room to store them (sigh!)

I never had a Jimny but had a few friends who have had them, and deployed them, with great results off-road. There's a strong following here for the old-school Jimny's.

Annabelle had an early Jimny loved it, I've never owned one, want to though, it's just storing it. Your right there, a very loved motor here too. We should be going offroading soon in an early one, that'll be fun, hi lift kit and snorkel.
