Over here in the UK, we are a little short on the old HP in most regular cars.

I mean, we get only 592bhp in the new BMW M5 for the grand total of £90k

Audi RS5, with only 450bhp goes for £62k

And the Lexus RC F, with 471bhp will set you back at £61k.

Well in the states they have had the muscle car for years and now have the muscle car on steroids.

How does 840bhp for £62k sound?

Crazy fast for a 4 seater nearly 2 tonne car (4200lbs).

The all-new 2018 Dodge Demon Hellcat Challenger is now available to order but with only 3000 available in the US and 300 in Canada it’s going FAST.

Out of the box it comes with a tuned 6.2l V8 Hemi fitted with a 2.7l supercharger. The normal Hellcat produces 707bhp and this one on normal 93 octane fuel produces 808bhp. Put 100 octane race fuel in it and it makes 840bhp.

This power can actually lift the front wheels off the floor and produce with launch control a 0-60 time of 2.3 seconds and 0-100 in 6.1. The quarter mile is below 9 seconds at nearly 140mph.

Launch control is an art in itself, just setting it, but worth it when you get those sort of results.

The launch control, which only becomes available when the car has done 500 miles, puts the car in 1st gear and reverse at the same time. You set your revs, and once you pull the left gear change lever, the reverse gear is dropped and you launch forward.

The car is reported to be quite docile if the revs are kept low, and you also have two keys to control things. The black key only gets you 500bhp whereas the RED key get you the full 840bhp. It is also password protected so you can set Valet control to stop any mischief.
