I just picked up this truck cap this morning to squeeze every bit of space I can out of the vehicles I'll be taking cross-country. This used one was about a third of the price as a new one and It has the right patina to go with the truck anyway, so I'm happy with it. Now I can transport my stuff out of the rain and wind with the ability to be under lock and key. These aren't the most secure rigs, but at least they'll slow down any would-be thieves enough that they'll pick an easier target.
I believe this is a Snug Top brand truck cap, and the way they make them to fit specifically to these Super Duty Ford trucks, they almost look like an enormous SUV instead of a pickup when the cap is on. I remember back in the day that the ones available usually looked like an afterthought. These ones look like they came with the truck from the factory. I told my wife now we could turn it into a bus because it already seats 6 and you could easily fit another two rows of seats under the cap for 12 total seats. She didn't like the idea for some reason.
I also recently decided to take care of my truck and to be honest, so far I have only found Rock sliders and I think that you can consider this option, even if you have an old truck and you need to make more profitable investments in order to leave as much free space as possible, ensure high off-road capability and also maintain high functionality.
